Background

Global automotive supplier Inteva Products has opened its second manufacturing plant in Pune to grow its presence in India’s fast-growing mobility sector. The company invested ₹50 crore in the new facility, which will create more than 400 jobs in the region.

The Pune plant will make advanced vehicle parts such as frameless window regulators, power-folding actuators, E-Latch and frunk latch systems, and Inteva’s SLIM (Small Light Inteva Motor) for window regulators. These products help reduce vehicle weight, improve safety, and support the move toward electric and connected vehicles.

This move comes just a year after Inteva completed a ₹30 crore capacity expansion at its first Pune plant. The company also operates a technical centre in Bengaluru, employing more than 320 professionals, including 180 engineers, who work on product design and innovation.

Gerard Roose, President and CEO of Inteva Products, said the expansion reflects the company’s confidence in India’s market potential and commitment to sustainable innovation. Sanjay Kataria, Vice President and Managing Director for India and Rest of Asia, added that the new plant will boost the ‘Make in India’ initiative and strengthen partnerships with both domestic and global automakers.

Inteva focuses on sustainability in all its operations. The Pune facility runs on a 335-kW solar system with over 1,000 panels. Inteva is also investing in recycling materials and renewable energy projects to cut its carbon footprint.

With this new plant, Inteva plans to make its supply chain more efficient and develop Pune as a major hub for its operations in Asia.
